Eija-Liisa Ahtila - In the Woods There is a Bird
In his book Sivonen explores the relationship between a human and nature through Ahtila's video works from mid-1990s to this day.
The nature described in Ahtila's works is full of symbolicism. In spite of this, very few efforts have earlier been made to study this side of her production. Eija-Liisa Ahtila specializes in installations moving on the edge of film and video art. She has exhibited in major museums and galleries around the world and has works in numerous prestigious collections.
